This year the Florida International Air Show Features:
The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels

The Florida International AirShow, is made possible only through the generous support of our volunteers and our sponsors. Our sponsors seek and receive modest recognition, however, they are the superstars of our successful event. . . year after year, after year. Through their selfless aid, the show has been able to return net proceeds of over $1,800,000 to more than 56 charities in and around the Southwest Florida region.

The U.S. Navy's Blue Angels return to Florida International AirShow
for their tenth appearance in twenty-five years
THE BLUE ANGELS TEAM

The Blue Angels’ mission is to enhance Navy and Marine Corps recruiting and to represent the naval service to the United States, its elected leadership and foreign nations. The Blue Angels serve as positive role models and goodwill ambassadors for the U. S. Navy and Marine Corps. A Blue Angels flight demonstration exhibits the choreographed refinements of Navy trained flying skills. It includes the graceful aerobatic maneuvers of the four-plane Diamond Formation, in concert with the fast-paced, high-performance maneuvers of its two solo pilots. Finally, the team illustrates the pinnacle of precision flying, performing maneuvers locked as a unit in the renowned, six-jet Delta Formation. Stationed during the show season at Forrest Sherman Field, Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, the squadron spends the winter (January through March) training pilots and new team members at Naval Air Facility El Centro, California. The Blue Angels are scheduled to fly nearly 70 air shows at 34 locations in the United States and Canada during the 2005 season. Last season brought out more than 17 million spectators. Since its inception in 1946, the Blue Angels have performed for more than 381 million fans.

Special Operations Command Parachute Team appear at the
Florida International AirShow

Special Operations Command Parachute Team: 26 member team from all of the armed forces.
The team normally jumps from an altitude of 12,500 feet above ground level, freefalls approximately 2 miles and reaches speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour. This freefall can last up to one minute. During their freefall, the members of the team maneuver their bodies like the flight surfaces of an aircraft, to form numerous aerial designs and formations in the sky.

Gene Soucy-Teresa Stokes

One of the top wingwalking acts in the business. Gene Soucy is known as “Mr. Airshow” and Teresa Stokes is a one-of-a-kind performer. When they team up, you get one of the top acts in the air show business. Anything is possible with this act. One of their top maneuvers puts Teresa on the very edge while standing on her head.

Frank Ryder

He has entertained countless thousands of spectators with his unbelievable low altitude precision acrobatic demonstrations and aerial showmanship.
Frank's spectacular show starts when he lifts the wheels from the runway and rolls the Cyclone just after takeoff. Pulling back on the stick heads the Cyclone up over the top and back towards show center. Flying a graceful barrel roll with smoke trailing Frank shows off the power of the Cyclone, a great photo opportunity!  The Aircraft is a Cyclone
